Hello from Singapore!
Sorry for not checking in earlier but I’m finally here and I’ve really missed all of you so much!
New house, new school and a new country… moving back to Singapore has been both exciting and exhausting. I’m still waiting on a few of my boxes to arrive from India, one of which that has all my make-up and beauty products in it. I know I’ll feel more settled in when that arrives.
To be honest… it’s been kinda tough adjusting back here. Everything is so different from my life back in India, and the culture shock is hitting me hard. My first week at school was not what I expected at all. It’s not as easy as I thought it would be to make new friends. I’m realizing that it takes time to build trust… especially when you’re the only stranger in the room. People can be so quick to judge someone new, assuming things about you when they don’t know you at all! It’s easy to forget but there’s so much more to people than meets the eye, and this is lesson I’ve been learning the hard way.
That being said, everything being so different means my life has been full of surprises lately - both good and bad! It’s these unexpected things that keep life interesting and though it’s been a rollercoaster of a week, I can’t deny that I’m excited to see what happens next. One of the things I’m looking forward to most here is… you guessed it! Shopping! There’s a shopping mall on almost every corner in Singapore, and in every mall there’s a major cosmetics store! Ahh! With the summer season in full swing, a lot of big make-up brands have released their summer collections and I can’t wait to get my hands on them all - so be sure to look out for exciting tutorials and reviews perfect for the summer!
Since Singapore sits on the equator the sun beams down on me all day, which means harmful UV rays that can cause premature aging not to mention skin damage too. I’m specifically on the lookout for a new moisturizer SPF 50+. There are actually two types of harmful UV rays, and some sunscreens only account for UVB rays, not UVA so make sure your sunscreen protects you from both!
My beauty pick of the week is the magical Aloe Vera plant. With its natural hydrating and soothing properties, it makes for the perfect addition to face creams for this warm season. Look out for aloe vera gels too, they’ll be your best companion if you’ve been naughty and burnt your skin sun bathing too long - don’t worry, we’ve all been there! I’m going to be adding aloe vera pieces to my water when I’m relaxing by the pool this weekend; it helps boost your immune system and removes harmful toxins from your body. So who’s with me on an aloe vera detox this weekend? Let’s do it together guys!
I feel so lucky to be able to share this new adventure with you all. Your support over the years has been incredible, and reminds me to keep my head up even when times are tough. So thank you all for sticking with me on yet another chapter of my life, love you all!! Until next time! Mwah!
