Hai
Girls,
The
coolest thing about meeting someone new is the feeling of discovery. There’s so much to learn about each other, so much to
share about each other’s lives and chat about… It’s been so hard to put my
phone away and not send a single text to S all day. I didn’t realise how glued
I was to my phone until I annoyed Ma. Oops.
I
guess these days, with social media, smartphones and messaging, it’s difficult
NOT to stay connected to each other 24/7. But is it a good idea to be so
connected all the time?
My
parents were matchmade to each other and I’ve always wondered how that must
have felt, when they met for the first time, knowing they were going to marry
the other person and spend the rest of their lives together, yet not having
made a personal connection yet! Well, it worked and my parents are happily
married!
So
maybe taking it slow and knowing less about each other is not a bad thing. I
wouldn’t want to rush into anything. Plus, there are other things in my life that
require my time and attention too, besides S – my family, friends, getting
ready for uni, writing this blog – and I can’t neglect them all.
Let
me share my tip for staying off your phone so that you can focus on other
things in life: try using a time management or focusing app to help you! There
are many available online that you can try. Some are simple timers, some of
them allow you to grow cute vegetables like tomatoes and other plants, while
forcing you to stay away from your phone (or risk killing your online plants!).
It works for me – give it a try! You’ll appreciate some time away from your
phone and it will make you more productive too.
That’s
it for this week, until next time! Mwah!
Xoxo
