Hai Girls!
It’s the season of celebrations! With
Ma and Pa’s anniversary and my schoolmate L’s birthday too, I’ve been
surrounded by all kinds of happy occasions lately. I was a little bummed out I
had to miss L’s birthday party at the last minute, so I’m cheering myself up by
blogging!
I love the awesome perks that come
with celebrations: decorations, cake, a chance to get dressed up and of course,
my favourite – presents! It’s easy to just buy a gift card and sign your name
at the bottom, but going to the trouble to find a perfect present shows someone
that you CARE.
This is tricky business though, and
getting the perfect present is almost
impossible, but I’ll let you in on a secret, guys… if you’re shopping for a gal
in your life, you really can’t go wrong with jewellery! Ma still wears the
necklace Pa gave to her on their anniversary years ago; it’s such a beautiful
way to symbolize their love and commitment to one another.
Of course, a cute stuffed teddy bear
is also a great gift – especially if someone swaps your perfect gift of
jewellery for one! (You know who you are!)
Anyway, back to my topic… this week,
I’m going to give you some tips on how to pick out jewellery for someone
special in your life. First off, it’s important to note whether they have a
preferred jewellery item. Be observant: what do they usually wear? Take them
out shopping and casually walk past a jewellery shop. Watch what their eyes
linger on… chances are good that’s what they really like!
Personally, I love bracelets. I
think chunky cuffs and bracelets look great on me, and when I dress up in a
sari, I love to accessorize with colourful, pretty bangles. For young ladies,
charm bracelets are also super cute. If your loved one has a charm bracelet you
could get them an appropriate charm depending on the occasion. Easy!
Earrings are great too. Guys, you
might want to check if your loved one has pierced ears – if so, buy her
earrings! You can find unique designs that represent something that they like –
an animal, for example – or just play it safe by choosing an intricate design
or perhaps their birthstone.
Finally, necklaces! Like earrings,
you could buy your gal a pendant in the shape of something they like, or a
birthstone pendant. Alternatively, go with a bold design and colour that can be
a perfect statement piece for a night out. It's the perfect accessory to
complement a simpler outfit – no one will be able to miss it!
Now you
have the basics on how to shop for jewellery for any occasion. Don’t forget
though, presents are just a symbol, it’s still important to spend time together
and celebrate!
Until next
time! Mwah!
Thank you so much for the tips! You know, I bought my bestie a necklace for her 12th birthday (it was on 20th April) and guess what? She loved it! It had a beautiful pendant on it. And also I like the heart charm bracelet.
ReplyDeleteYou’re welcome! I’m happy that your bestie loved your gift. Hearts are always a great choice!
