Dear everyone,
This week I’m writing an open letter
to you, my readers, and everyone at school because I feel completely defeated and
I don’t know what else to do. So this is me, Shruti Bhaskar, writing candidly… and
it’s up to you whether you believe me or not.
Recently, I unintentionally offended
someone at school pretty badly by comments about her looks and her weight that
were edited and taken out of context. I can’t stress enough that the way
someone looks does not make a difference to how I see them as a person. My
words were never intended as an insult. Nevertheless, my comments were
careless, I hurt her feelings and I feel horrible about it. To A, if you’re
reading this, I hope you can forgive me.
I’m not a perfect person… and
everyone makes mistakes. At times like this, I remember one of my favourite
quotes by the amazing JK Rowling: “We’ve
all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to
act on. That’s who we really are”, and despite what anyone says… I always
choose light.
And so I uploaded a video in which I
poured my heart into apologizing and trying to clear up the misunderstanding.
But instead, all I got back were mean comments questioning my character and
intentions. Comments calling me “fake” and even worse things than that really
hit me hard. Despite my good intentions, my honest efforts backfired on me.
I enjoy helping others, and I will
always jump at the opportunity to do so. When those efforts are misinterpreted
and get thrown back in your face, it really hurts.
At the end of the day, I know that
when I wake up in the morning and look at myself in the mirror, I see someone
who’s imperfect, but tries her best to always be honest. Always choose the light. If I make a mistake, I’ll do my best to
make it right, learn from it, and move on. I hope that everyone out there can do
the same regarding my mistake.
To end off this blog post, this
week’s beauty tip is about showing you my true face: no make-up, no mask. So I
want you girls to try my routine too and think about what you see the next
morning – which part of you did you choose… light or dark?
Fru Fru Shru’s Night Time Routine:
1. I always start off by removing my
make-up with make-up remover and a cotton pad.
2. Then, I wash my face with a cleanser
to get rid of any leftover make-up or dirt from the day.
3. Finally, before I sleep, I apply
some toner and moisturize my face with a night cream to keep my skin hydrated
throughout the night.
It feels good to go to bed with a
fresh and clean face! Thank you for listening and a special shout out to all my
loyal blog readers - you girls are AMAZING!
Until Next Time, Mwah!
Nice lecture up there. You know what are you doing and don't let anyone defeat you. You are Shruti Bhaskar. From your blog, all I know is you're an amazing girl, who is going through all kinds of difficulties but you get out of it. Everything has a solution and I hope A gets your point. I don't know what you think about me, but I'm just saying. One last thing, don't you ever let anyone bring you down, if they ever say that to you, that obviously means that you're above them, okay Shruti?
