Hai
Girls!
A few weeks ago I came
across the quote “hurt people, hurt
people” on Instagram, and at the time it didn’t make much sense to me… but now
I think I finally get it.
My brother has been
juggling quite a few girlfriends lately. He’s single and I guess there’s
nothing wrong with dating, but what bugs me the most is that eventually, when
they call him, he doesn’t call them back. It’s obvious that his cold demeanour
is hurting them… but I finally understand why he’s behaving like this – because
hurt people, hurt people.
When someone is
heartbroken, they’re too consumed by their own sorrow to worry about anybody
else’s, but that’s no excuse to hurt someone else. This lifestyle of his is bad
for his health too… partying endlessly, sleeping less and not eating well is
bound to take a toll on anyone! And he’s a doctor!! How does he not see it?!
Argh, I guess I’m mostly
just frustrated because I know there’s nothing I can do to help him through
such a painful time in his life. The situation is complicated, and with no easy
solution in sight… it’s understandable he’s taken to a new partying lifestyle to
help numb his pain.
Girls, if you ever find
yourself in this situation, stop for a moment and think about whether or not you
are hurting anyone else. If you’re nursing a broken heart, there are things you
can do to help ease your pain. Let me share my top 3 tips with you… and feel
free to share these with anyone who’s currently a victim of love! Remember: the
pain won’t last and you’ll come out of it stronger than ever!
1. At least a tub of your favourite ice-cream! This is a full-proof classic
remedy which recently worked wonders with my brother – and you can’t go wrong
with chocolate.
2. A list of movies that have as little to do with
romance as possible. Yup, a lot of people turn to rom-coms when they’re
heartbroken, but I’ve come to find that it only perpetuates the pain. Why not
go for something like horror? Being totally scared out of your wits is bound to
take your mind off your heartbreak for a while!
3. Commit to a new workout regimen at your nearest
gym. Exercise pumps your body with much needed endorphins, and if you work out
with a punching bag, you can also release all your rage and best of all, this
will get you in the best shape of your life to make that silly ex-boyfriend of
yours sooo jealous!
That’s all I’ve got for
this week, girls! I hope my heartbreak handling tips are something you’ll never
need but in case you do, know that I’m always there for you!
Until next time, mwah!
