Hai Girls,
Tonight was our TGJC Prom
Night - the much anticipated Tanglin
Tango! The weeks building up to prom were spent working hard on getting my
outfit, make-up and accessories combination perfect. Looking back, I feel as
though I’ve come a long way regarding my make-up and styling capabilities. I
know that self-praise is no praise, but I really do feel as though I’ve refined
my skills over this past year and I’m proud of it too!
Finally, prom night is here! |
You’re probably wondering about
my prom date... trying to decide who you want to go to prom with seems like one
of the most exciting parts of the experience, but the entire process totally
stressed me out! I found myself leaving it until the very last minute. I guess
it was TOO last minute cos I ended up not having a date – but there’s nothing
wrong with that, right girls? Why stress yourself out when it’s just as fun
going to prom with a bunch of your closest friends?
Looking dramatic with my favourite teacher Mrs Pereira |
Prom night was everything I
hoped it would be and I wish it could have lasted for a lot longer. It was also
bittersweet knowing that this was our last hurrah and our last chance to see
each other before we all go our separate ways after graduation. I also realised
how many long lasting friendships I’ve made in TGJC… some were completely
unexpected but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Then again, I have to admit
there are one or two people I wouldn’t mind never seeing again… hah!
It was also AMAZING to meet
our special prom night guests, the talented athletes Shanti Pereira, who won a
gold medal for the 200 metres sprint at the 2015 SEA games, and Theresa Goh, a Paralympic
swimmer who’s won many gold medals in international Paralympic competitions. They’ve
accomplished so much, and are so inspiring!
A wefie with amazing athletes Shanti Pereira and Theresa Goh! |
Getting back to what’s
important – what did I do to prepare for Tanglin
Tango? I’m no athlete like Shanti and Theresa, and I needed to make sure
that I would fit into my prom dress, so I decided to go on a week-long juice
cleanse! I had my normal meals along with the juices, but reduced the portion
size. Try it!
Here’s my schedule:
Monday,
Wednesday, Friday & Sunday:
– 1 small green apple, 2
cups of romaine lettuce, 2 handfuls of spinach, 2 sticks of celery, half a
lemon and 1 cup of coconut water.
Tuesday,
Thursday & Saturday:
– 2 apples, 1 cucumber, 2
cups of grapes, 2 cups of kale leaves and a small piece of ginger.
If you’ve got an important
event coming up definitely try this juice cleanse out – it worked wonders for me!
