During such turbulent times
for my family, every moment together has started feeling different. I catch
myself wishing time would slow down, even if it’s only by a matter of a few
seconds. Even mundane things like picking up groceries with my parents, or
having a silly laugh with A fills me up with joy so completely nowadays.
Thinking back, we as a
family used to do so much together! From watching TV on the sofa, to playing board
games, going cycling at the beach and so much more… but when did this all stop?
And why do these times feel like forever ago?
I guess it was because we
were all a lot less busy back then… but now, especially with A’s health
situation, I just wish I could go back in time and not take the precious times we
spent together for granted.
So this week, in the hopes
of encouraging you to clock in that quality family time with your loved ones,
I’ve compiled a list of my favourite family-bonding activities:
1. Have a movie marathon!
(Don’t forget the popcorn!)
2. Prep your favourite dishes
and plan a BBQ! It’s likely there’s either one in your residential estate or at
the nearest beach.
3. For active families, go for
a sunrise walk at one of our beautiful reservoirs or take a hike up Bukit Timah
Hill.
4. Rainy afternoon? Stay in
with your favourite snacks and work on a puzzle together!
5. Print out your favourite
family pictures from holidays and special occasions and build a collage
together.
I hope you give at least
one of these a shot, and please share your favourite family friendly activity
in the comments too!
Until
next time!
Xoxo
