Hai Girls!
As you all know by now, I’m
in the thick of my exam revision period these days. Naturally, I haven’t had
time for my usual hobbies or even socializing with friends. Everyone is focused
on the same goal and despite having study buddies and support… it’s still a
lonely road of studying to the finish line.
However, there is a big
upside to staying at home more these days is that I’ve finally got into a
rhythm of eating healthy meals every day. Both my Ma and our helper L are fantastic
cooks and always happy to make fresh and yummy meals and snacks for me. I’m so
grateful to have them taking care of me, and knowing that I’m getting all the
nutrients I need to help me focus and retain all the information I’m taking in.
Besides my healthy eating, I
have another secret to staying healthy during exam time – it’s my super food Avocados and super eyes Cucumber combination! Or, my
Super Green Power Combo!

This is no exaggeration
girls, I’ve been using these two super secrets of mine for a few weeks now, and
I couldn’t imagine even a day of studying without them! Avocados provide me
with all the brainpower I need whilst cucumbers help my tired, puffy eyes from
excessive reading and computer usage. Don’t believe me? Try it!
Super
Food - Avocados:
My brother is the ONLY
person I know who doesn’t like avocados - they’re extremely versatile and
nutritious! I usually have one avocado every day either with breakfast, lunch,
dinner or even for a snack. There are so many ways you can eat avocados – just
slice them up and add them to a salad or sandwich, or blend them into an
avocado milkshake. You can also make a fantastic guacamole with mashed
avocados, tomatoes and coriander. It’s the best thing ever with some chips (or
if you want to be healthier, cucumber or carrot sticks!)
Super
Eyes - Cucumbers:

I’m usually left with extra
cucumber slices after I’ve gobbled the guacamole up. But not to fear, when I’m
ready to take a break from studying, I just pop two slices on my eyes for 5-10
minutes. I know this trick is often mistaken for a myth but trust me it’s a classic
and also a 100% effective! Cucumbers are high in vitamin C and caffeic acid
that help sooth and reduce swelling. With its awesome natural hydrating
properties, you eyes will also feel cool and awake within just ten minutes!
