Hai
Girls!
This
week was super busy for me because it was Deepavali! It’s not hard to guess
that my favourite part of this festival was the shopping (check out the video
in my previous post!) I love buying new traditional outfits, festive snacks,
gifts and decorations... the list is endless!
The
house looked so pretty with all our Deepavali decorations, including our kolam
by the front door. It totally sets the mood for the festive spirit. And it
wasn’t just the house that looked pretty – we did too, in our brand new kurtas
and sarees! :)
Everyone looking their best for Deepavali! |
What
I wasn’t too thrilled about, though, was waking up at the break of dawn to take
my oil bath. It’s SUCH a pain to do, but this time I took it as a symbolic way
to wash away all the negative things from my past, like fake friends and cyber
bullying.
Throughout
the week, my helper L and Ma were busy cooking delicious Indian sweets, whilst
Pa, my brother and I arranged the food and snacks around the house on Deepavali
to welcome our guests. It was quite hectic but fun to spend time together as a
family. I can’t remember the last time we did that without being distracted by
our phones, laptops or the TV! It’s been so nice to bond with them during this
auspicious festival.

Keeping
busy with Deepavali also helped Ma to forget about her uncomfortable menopause
symptoms. I can’t even imagine what it must feel like to have your body start
behaving differently, especially when you don’t have control over it. BUT! Now that
Deepavali is over, to continue to take her mind off it, I arranged a surprise
spa day for her at home and it totally worked – she had a great time!
HomeSpa
was something I tried out for the first time and I can definitely say it won’t
be the last! Ma and I both got a manicure that included a ten-minute hand
massage with essential oils that was super relaxing, all in the comfort or our
own home.
We
were also offered a wide selection of delicious herbal teas to choose from.
They gave us detailed information about the benefits of each, and being the health
and beauty freak that I am, I totally loved it! The teas were freshly brewed
and we happily sipped on them throughout our spa day. Finally, what I really
loved about HomeSpa was their service!
They were flexible in allowing me to customize the package I wanted and played
along with the surprise aspect of my
spa day. What more could you ask for? If you girls get a chance, definitely
give HomeSpa a shot! After all,
looking good shouldn’t just be reserved for the holidays, right?
That’s
it for this week girls. Until next time, mwah!
Xoxo
