Hai
Girls,
It’s
been a crazy, exciting week because I spontaneously hopped onto a plane and
took a trip to a fun place overseas! I can’t tell you where yet, but it’s a
sponsored trip and I’ll reveal all next week so stay tuned!!
The
other reason for my trip was to help find a friend, M, who had gone missing. It
was very worrying for us even though I didn’t think he would do anything dumb…
but he really scared me because he had run off with someone I didn’t entirely
trust…
It
was scary enough running around in a foreign country trying to locate him and
not knowing if we would, but if I’m being honest with you girls, it felt like
one of the most meaningful things I’ve done in my life.
I
guess the lesson here is that when a friend really needs you, wherever
possible, you drop everything and help them if you can. What confused me was
why he felt like he couldn’t trust me enough to tell me what was going through
his mind before he took off. But ultimately this isn’t about me, it’s about
supporting my friend.
Speaking
of friends, it’s so easy to think your feelings about people in your life are
simply black or white. I always thought I was crystal clear about whom I liked
or disliked, but lately I’ve been making unexpected connections with people I
wasn’t close to before. There’s so much grey area and I think it’s something to
be embraced! You never know what’ll happen if you allow yourself to be a little
more open-minded.
Being
open-minded or clear-minded isn’t a quality that all of us are naturally
blessed with – it takes work! So this week, I want to share with you guys a
little trick I use to help me get my thoughts, wants and needs clearly in front
of me when I’m confused – a Mind Map!
On
an A3 page, I write down some KEY TOPICS and KEY WORDS to help guide me through
my thoughts. Then, I work through the questions that I am pondering:
1. If I could just listen to the
little voice in my head, and cut out all the noise around me, what would I be
saying to me? How can I keep my thoughts clear and focused?
2. How can I best take care of
my money – regardless of how much or how little I have?
3. At which point in my day am
I happiest – what am I doing then? Who am I with?
4. If I don’t do this
particular thing, will I regret it in the future? What are my immediate and
future goals in life?
The
questions could be anything that you’re confused by or in a dilemma about at
the moment. Putting your thoughts down on paper is a great way to help you to
think clearly – plus, it’s fun making the Mind Map!
That’s
all for this week girls! Remember to always follow your heart even if it feels
like you’re treading in unknown territory – you never know what’ll come out of
it on the other side! Until next time, mwah!
Xoxo
