Hai Girls!
With all
the talk about part-time jobs with my friends lately, I’m starting
to feel the anticipation, knowing that I’m about to take that big
step towards greater financial responsibility and adulthood very
soon. I’m so excited!
Sure, I
haven’t actually received
a confirmation from any of the
jobs I’ve applied for yet, but I’m sure that one just perfect for
me will come through. Then again, sometimes things could work out in
unexpected ways… Take my friend E, who was practically every
teacher’s nightmare when he was in school. Well, guess what, he’s
about to start work as a relief teacher back in our old school! I
think our teachers are going to be shaking their heads…
Now, I
can’t wait to see what my first job will be like! But what if the
experience turns out to be completely different from what I thought?
If you had asked me a couple of weeks ago, I would’ve said the not
knowing and uncertainty of my immediate future is stressful and
daunting. But as more time goes by and the people around me find
their paths, the same uncertainty has begun to seem exciting, like a
real-life interactive game! I’m sure the fear bug will creep up on
me once in a while, but in the meantime…. I’m ready to play!
That being
said, I do have some idea where my strengths and interests lie, so I
definitely hope that my first job (and eventual career) will be
related in some way to those strengths and interests. I’ve always
been a blogger at heart and talking with you girls is one of my
favourite things to do.
Which is
why this week, I’m sharing with you my list of five women whom I
aspire to be like. A lot of my interest in fashion, beauty and media
have been inspired by these role models. These women are strong,
smart, successful and completely embrace who they are – and that’s
what makes them unique!
- Victoria Beckham – For her fearless eye for style and fashion!
2. Beyoncé
– Beyoncé embodies the idea that there are two parts to us, and
that it’s important to embrace our alter egos like she does with
Sasha Fierce!
3. J K
Rowling – She has an amazing story, but what I love most about J K
Rowling is that she represents the power of imagination!
4. Shanti
Pereira – A huge local inspiration who just goes to show that you
gotta get after what you want! By dedicating time, honest effort and
positive thinking, you can make your goals attainable.
5. Priyanka
Chopra – This tough chick breaks the glass ceiling time and time
again. From modeling, to singing, Bollywood, and now Hollywood,
Priyanka Chopra’s on this list because she proves that you are
more than just one thing!
So tell me
girls, who are YOUR role models and why do you look up to them? Stay
inspired and remember that nothing’s impossible if you dare to
dream big and work hard!
That’s it
for this week, until next time! Mwah!
