Hai Girls,
Yup, you read the title right – this
week, I got my first kiss from S! It was just a peck on the cheek but it was super
sweet. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was, or rather, I won’t because a girl
shouldn’t kiss and tell! ;)
I will, however, tell you how
disappointed I was when I received my university rejection letter recently. But,
I was ecstatic to receive another letter afterwards, giving me a second chance
to interview with them! I’m going to work really hard to show them that I
deserve that uni spot!
All this got me thinking... It can be
so easy to completely dismiss people in your life when they do one thing wrong but
can you imagine a world where everyone got their second chance? As the saying
goes, “To err is human, to forgive is
divine”. None of us are perfect but why is giving, or being given a second
chance, so rare?
Take P for example. At first, we didn’t
get along at all. I mean we were practically enemies! But we gave each other a
second chance and now I can’t imagine not having her friendship and support.
So, I urge you girls to give someone
another shot and see what comes out of it – whether the outcome is good or bad,
I truly believe we should practice second chances more.
In light of my “second chance”
university interview, I’m sharing my pre-interview checklist to help you to
prepare for any important interviews you might have too:
1. Know the Format – What kind of
questions will they be asking you? Prepare for everything!
2. Know the Course – Study the course
you’re applying for in detail. Know the answers to this question clearly.
3. Know the interviewers – This will help
you to anticipate the questions they are going to ask you.
4. Practice Aloud – This will make you
sound much more eloquent when you’re actually in the interview.
5. Craft your Questions – Have at least five questions you want answered at
the end of the interview – this shows them that you’re really interested.
6. Materials – Bring at least one set of résumé
or relevant documents per interviewer, a pen, water and a small piece of candy
to calm those pre-interview nerves!
7. Next steps – Before you leave the
interview, inquire about what the next steps of the process are and when you
should follow up.
8. The most important question – Ask
yourself if you truly want to study
this course or get in this university! If the answer is YES, then work hard for
it, and give it your best shot!
Good luck to all of you out there! Until
next time, mwah!
