I know I can
be impulsive at times. I don’t just mean that impulse buy that I clicked
through at 1 in the morning (haven’t we all been there?) but I’ve been guilty
of sometimes blurting out things I shouldn’t have. Sometimes it gets me in
trouble, or puts me in embarrassing situations, but you know what? It’s not all
bad. Mistakes are a learning experience! And I guess if we make the same ones enough times, we eventually stop.
Of course,
we don’t want to make mistakes. But sometimes we’re so terrified of doing
something wrong we don’t do anything at all. And that sucks. We shouldn’t let
the fear of messing up stop us from taking chances, especially when it comes to
things that matter, like love.
I’m thinking
of my friend F who confessed his feelings to a girl he liked, even though he
knew she didn’t return his feelings. He knew he had to take that chance, that
leap of faith, even if it meant certain rejection.
If I were in
F’s place, I don’t think I’d have the courage. I thought his confession was
pointless, and would cause him embarrassment on top of the heartache. Why put
yourself through that? F didn’t see it that way though; he was honest to his
crush and more importantly, to his own feelings. And when it comes to something
like love, that’s the best we can do.
People say a
lot of things about love. I mean, Princess Anna from Frozen would tell you
Love’s an Open Door. And Jordin Sparks would say love is like a Battlefield.
But to me,
love is kind of like a paper fortune teller. It gives your surprising answers.
Sometimes it’s not the answer you’re looking for, and that’s okay too! You’ve
just got to ask different questions the next round, and take a leap of faith!
Until next
time,
XOXO Fru Fru
