So the university summer break is finally here, and I know I'm supposed to feel excited about it, but… I don't have anything planned. The university's career advisory department keeps telling us we're supposed to fill up our holidays. It's not for lazing around, like when we were in secondary school. During uni breaks, people get internships, attend extra credit classes, fly off for international exchanges, and just generally, are productive.
Like my friends – one is taking on temp jobs so he can save up for a backpacking trip and another is taking extra modules over the holidays. Me, on the other hand… I guess I was too caught up in the semester to think ahead.
Maybe I'm having a mid-university crisis- uh, quarter-university crisis. The truth is, there’s so much I could do, I’m not sure where to start! Maybe I should do something related to my future career. But what? What will I do with my degree in the future? Be a journalist? Media analyst? Social Media specialist? There are so many possibilities!
I think I'll need to sort out my priorities over the summer. It's probably a good time to try and figure out where I'm going. Take this blog, for example. I’ve done this for so many years, and I’m so glad to have you girls out there as loyal readers. I can’t thank you all enough! But things are going to get busier next year in university. Can I keep this up? Or should I be expanding my options and trying out new things?
Maybe having a free summer is a good thing after all. I know I could definitely use the break. To all the university students out there, have a fruitful summer holiday!
Until next time,
XOXO Fru Fru Shru
