Hai
Girls!
This week I’ve found it
extra hard to focus on my studying, mostly because I have to babysit a certain
“study buddy” as well! It’s difficult to focus when your study buddy isn’t
helping you study but is busy distracting and annoying you. Then again, I guess
it’s good to have a study buddy who makes you laugh, especially when you need a
stress reliever.
Okay, well… if I’m being honest
I’ve also been distracted because… prom is coming up soon! I’m so excited! This
year’s theme is Tanglin Tango and
it’s going to be awesome, I can feel it. There’s a prize for the best dressed
guy and girl. Hm, I’ve got to start planning what I’m going to wear! OK, OK, I
should get back to my studying first, but this is the light at the end of the
tunnel for us J2s with all the work we’re currently buried under.
Actually, it’s kind of
cruel of the prom committee to be handing out these flyers while we’re trying
to study. In a way it almost seems like my A-levels are a distraction from Tanglin Tango – oops, don’t tell my
parents I said that! ;)
All jokes aside, I haven’t
forgotten that studying is my top priority… buuuut that doesn’t mean I can’t start
preparing for prom at the same time, which I do whenever I take a well-deserved
study break.
And so for this week’s
beauty tip, I’m going to share a homemade facial mask recipe with you which I
grew up seeing my mother use. All of the ingredients are readily available in
any Indian household, or you can pick them up from your neighbourhood
supermarket.
It’s simple, quick and so
effective. Brides-to-be in India traditionally use this homemade mask the day
before their wedding, so you know this is legit!
All you’re gonna need is one
cup of besan (gram flour) which is great for clearing up any oily areas, a
teaspoon of haldi (turmeric powder) and half to one cup of water depending on
the consistency you like.
Here’s what you do:
1. Add the haldi to the besan,
and mix it in together.
2. Slowly begin adding the
water and stirring simultaneously.
3. When the mixture becomes a
liquid consistency stir a while longer.
4. The colour should be a
bright yellow! Gently apply this mix on your face and leave it until it slightly
hardens (15-20 minutes).
5. Wash it off afterwards and
enjoy your lovely glow!
There you have it girls, a
time-saving facial mask you can make right at home! You could even prepare it
in bulk and leave the leftovers in your fridge. Don’t forget to share your mask
photos by tagging me on Instagram @frufru.shru, but for now it’s back to
studying for me!
Until next time, mwah!
